El genero del clásico Beat-em-up (Yo contra el mundo) esta de vuelta. Con el anuncio de Capcom de un nuevo juego de Final Fight, Midway nos sorprende con Shaolin Monks.
Antes que todo, debes olvidarte del pasado. Mortal Kombat fue una saga exitosa tal vez hasta MK3. Un juego de pelea, parecido al Street Fighter donde 2 peleadores se enfrentaban al mejor de 3 rounds. MK destacaba por su violencia excesiva y una historia apasionante.
Lamentablemente, con Mortal Kombat 3, se diluyó la serie. Un buen resurgimiento fue el Deception que ha salido en las nuevas consolas, siendo un fighter muy interesante.
En el pasado, MK trató de aprovechar el tirón de la historia para sacar una serie de sub-juegos estilo Beat-em-up. Suponemos que Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub Zero era una idea interesante y tal vez querían continuarla. Había un Mortal Kombat Special Forces que era re malón.
Han cambiado el estilo. En vez de ser un pseudo Beat-em-up con elementos RPG, aqui es pura acción, patadas, combos impresionantes y Fatalities, con unos tantes elementos de investigación (Que es mas que todo, buscar una habilidad requerida para seguir)
Shaolin Monks aprovecha al maximo la historia del MK, esta ambientado en MK1 y MK2, y todos los escenarios son un autentico tributo al Mortal Kombat. Los graficos son buenos sin llegar a ser excelentes. Los escenarios estan muy bien hechos, mas los personajes necesitan algo de trabajo.
El sonido es muy bueno, la musica es excelente y las voces, como siempre buenas. Tiene el feeling de MK en todos lados... y eso es bueno.
Realmente el modo de juego estrella es el Ko-Op. Uno de los mejores beat-em-up multijugador de la historia, te divertiras de lo lindo. Aunque en modo sencillo será un poco mas aburridor. En control es intuitivo y no demoraras en aprenderlo.
